BN27 Residential development site, Hailsham Road, Herstmonceux, Hailsham

This is a greenfield site of approximately 1.09 hectares (2.7 acres) and has outline planning consent from Wealden DC No.WD/2016/ 2096/MAO for the construction of 17 houses, 6 of which are to be affordable. An application for the reserved matters is in process. The plan shown here is a revised version of the consented outline. To the north east of this site is a residential scheme of 40 houses which is nearing completion. On the south east side of the site is ancient woodland. This site is separated from the garage by a bank of mature trees and shrubs.

Herstmonceux is located in the south-eastern area of Wealden District in East Sussex. It is situated on the A271 which runs from Ninfield and Bexhill in the east, to Hailsham about four miles to the west. At Polegate (7 miles) trains run to Brighton, Gatwick and Victoria. At Battle (8.5 miles) trains run to London Bridge, Charing Cross and Hastings. A primary school, modern medical centre and village hall are all nearby.
