Dorset Green is located within the Purbeck District of Dorset and lies approximately mid-way between Dorchester and the Bournemouth/Poole conurbation.Dorset Green is adjacent to the river Frome, the Purbeck Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), bordering the southern side of the site and stretching to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Including within the region is also protected heathland and an International Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI).
