Located 9 miles north west of Glasgow city centre and 4 miles north west of Dumbarton. Alexandria is situated adjacent to the A82, the main road linking Glasgow with Loch Lomond.From 1997, Loch Lomond Mills Shopping Centre was known as Loch Lomond Factory Outlets. Originally, though, the buildings ornate, A-listed façade formed the grand entrance to the Argyll Motors car factory, which was constructed in the early 1900s: celebrated in the Motoring Heritage Centre on the lower ground floor. This impressive level of architecture continues inside the entrance area, where imported Italian marble was used to create a grand staircase - modelled on the Paris Opera House. Loch Lomond Mills Shopping Centre is rated a 4-star shopping centre with a 2-star Motoring Heritage Centre, according to the Scottish Tourist Board. Constructed on three levels, with walkways that evoke an art gallerys ambience, Loch Lomond Mills Shopping Centre offers retail units that range from 93 sqm (1,000 sqft) to 604 sqm (6,500 sqft). A diverse selection of traders can be found in 23 varied units that exist alongside a relaxing café and the aforementioned Motoring Heritage Centre. The development has outdoor CCTV and patrol from security personnel. All retail units have generous shop frontages, staff toilets and kitchens as well as standard lighting and power facilities.
