On an 80 acre site in South Lanarkshire, Proactive Energy, a new Scottish renewable energy company is building a state of the art 5MW biogas plant. Organic waste, primarily from supermarkets, food processors and the agricultural industry will be converted into electricity which in turn will be supplied to the National Grid.Proactive Energy will be the anchor tenant at the M74 Eco-Park, Scotland’s first “green” commercial/industrial park that will become home to environmentally responsible companies.
