The only Shetland Shopping Centre, conveniently situated near to Lerwick Town Centre, has been gradually developed throughout the 1990s up to the present day and provides a wide range of local shops and other amenities. The centre takes its name from the Toll Booth clock, dating from 1825, which was restored and re-erected on this site in 1965. The section on the seafront was constructed in 1966 and first used as a boat building yard. The attractive new red buildings were designed and built for ground floor retail and mainly first floor offices.Virtually all shops in the centre are open
