Castlepoint Shopping Centre
The scheme is designed in a V shape, with large stores in the centre and at the end of each terrace. The remainder of the terraces are split into units measuring between 3,000 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft. There are a further 3 smaller terraces of units in two groups called the East and West Villages at the entrance and exit to the scheme. In addition there is approximately 85,000 sq ft of vacant shell space in the under croft with full unrestricted planning in place. In November 2005 structural problems were identified with the upper tier of the car park. Temporary works were concluded and these remain in place today. Over the intervening period negotiations have progressed with the scheme’s design and build contractor Kier and their insurers in respect of securing a long term remedial solution.
Leave the M3 at Junction 14 and take the M27 Westbound towards Bournemouth. Continue on the M27, which becomes the A31 towards Ringwood. After the town of Ringwood, turn left onto the A338, signposted Bournemouth. Leave the A338 at the second junction signposted A3060 Wimborne. You will approach the Cooper Dean roundabout, turn right under the flyover following Wimborne signs, past the Harvester Inn on the left into Castle Lane West. Proceed for approximately half a mile until you reach a roundabout and you will see the Castlepoint development.

Acquired in February 2010, Castlepoint Shopping Park is one of the UK’s largest out of town retail parks. It was developed in 2003 by a subsidiary of Castlemore in partnership with Standard Life and Threadneedle, leading UK institutional investors. The park comprises 645,000 sq ft of consented open retail and food store use on two levels and with some mezzanine trading space together with 3,000 car parking spaces on a 41 acre site. It is located on the edge of Bournemouth. The catchment is relatively affluent and local competition both in and out of town is limited. Castlepoint is multi let to 40 tenants.
